Marguerite 04:33
the valley's still cold but its spring in my heart (i) only hope that you'll remember me you changed your name and cut your hair but i'd recognize your eyes anywhere maybe that's what scares me the most they say true love stories should never end but i need to see your face again well these winters are long but the fight goes on and my heart is beating for you, marguerite we'll hide up in the hills above this town (the) plateau's safe i swear marguerite freedom here comes at such an awful cost and no one can ever tell you what you've lost chorus oh mon coeur... they raided the shop on strasbourg and they threw us all in jail that train leaves tomorrow but i'd rather face the gunfire hail the things that i'm thinking are things that you'll never know so kiss your kids for me and tell your husband that i loved you so chorus

about

Notes from the Underground was recorded live, fourteen stories underground, in the Grand Gallery of Rat's Nest Cave on 16 December 2018. This album contains three previously unreleased tracks (Haunted Stampede, Marguerite, and Patterns in the Carpet) and two songs that appeared on the Trundled EP released in 2017 (Lost or Alone and Inchoate).

The Trundled concert was part of the Spirit of the Mountain series (www.canmorecavetours.com/spirit). On one of the longest nights of the year, twenty-four intrepid concert-goers, geared with kneepads and baggy jumpsuits and helmets and headlamps, were guided into an underground cavern carved by glacier meltwater over the past 100,000 years. Turning off all headlamps, phones, and sources of light, we started the show in a complete and immersive darkness. Our voices bounced off the cavern walls, joining the sporadic but continual percussion of water dripping from the limestone ceiling.

We only hope you have as much fun listening to this as we had making it.
